I was lucky enough to get the movie "Control" over the Christmas break as a gift.Control is the biopic movie that tells the storie of the influential 1970's post punk band Joy Division and its tormented lead singer Ian Curtis. the film follows Ian from his teenage years in Manchester England ,to Joy Division's rise in fame. the movie shows the personal rise and fall of Ian Curtis, starting with his failing marriage, his violent epilepsy fits, and his rising depression. Sam Riley the actor who plays Ian pushes the story along very well with his remarkable acting skills. the highlights of the film are Joy Division's live shows and the intense drama scenes between Ian and his wife. The movie comes to a very emotion and depressing end when Ian gives up on his horrible life and hangs himself in his home kitchen. He was 23 years old. "Control" is an emotion rollercoaster of a flim, if you are a big fan Joy Division or Ian Curtis this is a must see. If you never heard of the band or dont care for them, this is still a powerfull piece of work you need to watch. RIP Ian Curtis 18-5-80 !
